Low tech art fusion with Slime

The relationship between art and technology is a little topsy turvy. Both endeavors are known to have spirited and avowed practitioners. Some whose unalloyed dedication draws parallels with an ethereal endowment. Their life’s work. Therefore, the astute connoisseurs of the advanced forms of science or the arts will shudder at a fusion of scientific discipline and artful persuasion. Thank goodness contemporary culture can serve as a water carrier on this trend. The new savvy world of high tech, smart gadgets, fast fashion, social media is a good potpourri of fresh amalgams.

Art + Technology is a superb proof of this fine ideal. Poetically, it is sponsored by Hyundai Motors, the South Korean Car maker. Art + Technology showcases modern art gallery with bespoke techy artworks. A melange of science and art that is going on for years midwived by LACMA.org. I browsed through the gorgeous pictures adorn on Instagram from the museums. There are breathtakingly beautiful.

Seeing I’m just a girl and not much of a techy myself naturally, I was drawn to the colors. Then I thought what little science gig with the right amount of playful colors can fit in with Art + Technology? Aha!…I got it . SlimeforAfrica.

SlimeforAfrica is socially and environmentally centered work to fortify public school kids in Africa against avoidable ailments using Slime as a starter template. Slime is the faddish playful goey stuff that kids can’t get enough of in Western Countries. SlimeforAfrica adds crushed cinnamon that emits a strong aromatic smell. The smell is from cinnamaldehyde which mosquitoes hate a lot. SlimeforAfrica tick so many boxes for me: art, science, technology, and social media trendiness. They should be on Art + Technology backed LACMA and Hyundai especially from the motherland Africa.
